AIG (AIG) Q3 Earnings: What To Expect

Global insurance giant AIG (NYSE: AIG) will be reporting results this Tuesday after market close. Here’s what to look for.

AIG met analysts’ revenue expectations last quarter, reporting revenues of $6.84 billion, up 4.3% year on year. It was a mixed quarter for the company, with a beat of analysts’ EPS estimates but a miss of analysts’ book value per share estimates.

This quarter, analysts are expecting AIG’s revenue to grow 1.2% year on year to $6.83 billion, a reversal from the 8.1% decrease it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $1.71 per share.

Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. AIG has missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates five times over the last two years.

Looking at AIG’s peers in the insurance segment, some have already reported their Q3 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. Hartford delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 7.1%, beating analysts’ expectations by 1.2%, and Stewart Information Services reported revenues up 19.1%, topping estimates by 30.8%. Hartford traded down 1.8% following the results while Stewart Information Services was also down 4.1%.

The euphoria surrounding Trump’s November win lit a fire under major indices, but potential tariffs have caused the market to do a 180 in 2025. While some of the insurance stocks have shown solid performance in this choppy environment, the group has generally underperformed, with share prices down 3.9% on average over the last month. AIG is down 5.1% during the same time and is heading into earnings with an average analyst price target of $88.83 (compared to the current share price of $78.75).
