Tayeh Capital Group Expands Team

TCG Appoints Yumee Song as Managing Director; Song Will Invest Alongside Investment Team Leaders Dave Tayeh and Jon Ang

Tayeh Capital Group (“TCG” or “the Firm”), a relationship-based and growth-focused private equity firm that takes a differentiated approach to investing and building enduring value, today announced that Yumee Song was appointed as Managing Director. In her new role, Song will invest alongside investment team leaders Dave Tayeh and Jon Ang.

“Jon and Yumee are skilled investors who have delivered strong performance across a variety of business and economic cycles,” said Tayeh. “I have known Jon for more than two decades, and his thorough approach and collaborative mindset are perfectly aligned with the platform we are building at TCG. Yumee’s experience investing in and working with business services companies and partnership approach to everything she does make her a highly complementary addition to the team. I am thrilled to work with and learn from them as we build lasting value in our target sector verticals.”

Ang joined TCG at its founding last year and has more than 23 years of experience investing in and scaling middle market businesses as well as a longstanding working relationship with Tayeh. His business building expertise aligns well with the Firm’s focus on partnering with founders and management teams of high-growth, middle market business services companies to scale and position them for continued long-term growth. In addition to Ang’s investment responsibilities, he will work closely with TCG’s portfolio company management teams and help them drive value-creation activities.

Prior to joining TCG, Ang spent more than 14 years at Brentwood Associates, specializing in sourcing, executing and overseeing growth-oriented buyouts primarily in partnership with families and founders. Earlier, he spent almost nine years at Investcorp, working closely with Tayeh on a variety of investment opportunities across industries. Ang started his career in investment banking at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business with a BS in Economics and concentrations in Finance and Legal Studies.

“Dave has been a longtime mentor and colleague of mine, so it is truly a full-circle moment to build the TCG platform with him,” said Ang. “Middle market business services companies increasingly look to investment partners with the resources and expertise needed to support their next phase of growth, and TCG is well-positioned to help them spearhead the initiatives needed to reach their goals. It is wonderful to reunite with old friends and create new relationships as we build great businesses together.”

Song is a proven business services sector investor with nearly two decades of experience growing and scaling middle market companies. She will collaborate with Tayeh and Ang on investment and post-acquisition activities. She most recently was a Principal at RLH Equity Partners, where she was a key member of the team supporting multiple technology enabled and professional services companies, including Keystone.AI and Connors Group. Before joining RLH, she held positions of increasing responsibility at several other investment firms. Song began her career in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Merrill Lynch and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS from the University of Virginia.

“Having spent my career backing great business builders across the business services sector, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside Dave, Jon and the rest of the talented TCG team,” said Song. “The middle market continues to represent a significant investment opportunity, particularly at family-owned business services companies, and I look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues, the greater TCG network and future portfolio companies to drive meaningful outcomes.”

TCG is led by Tayeh and Co-Founder and Senior Advisor Jay Alix, who also is a member of TCG’s Investment Committee. The Firm launched this past October with backing from GCM Grosvenor, a global alternative asset management solutions provider.

TCG’s talented team of investment and operations professionals also includes:
