Strategic Acquisition Strengthens AID’s Relentless Pursuit of Innovation
Advanced Industrial Devices (AID), a portfolio company of Black Bay Energy Capital, is excited to announce the acquisition of Economy Control Systems (ECS), effective September 8th, 2025. This strategic acquisition strengthens AID’s relentless pursuit of innovation and expansion into the water infrastructure and industrial dewatering markets.
Headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, ECS specializes in developing and integrating custom control panels for water, wastewater, and industrial applications. With more than 30 years of experience, ECS has expanded its presence across the southeastern United States, building a strong reputation for delivering reliable, efficient systems. Their team of experts in quality control, process automation, engineering, and design-build construction is committed to understanding each client’s unique needs. By applying proven methodologies, ECS consistently delivers control systems that perform dependably and stand the test of time.
When evaluating the acquisition of ECS, the AID team focused on finding a company with strong leadership and a solid succession plan. It quickly became clear that ECS’ expertise and deep commitment to product quality made them the ideal partner.
“What makes this acquisition especially impactful is the caliber of the ECS team and their stellar performance with their customers,” said Gregg Leslie, SVP of Water Infrastructure & Industrial Dewatering for AID. “We are excited to welcome a team that shares our mission, vision, and values. By joining forces with ECS, AID continues to add to our network of capabilities on the East Coast.”
The potential for continued innovation was a key factor for the ECS team as well. “When we were introduced to AID and learned more about their ongoing focus on excellence, we were quickly excited about the potential for our team to grow and expand by joining the AID team,” said Ralph Sinn, ECS’ CEO.
It’s a theme that isn’t new at AID. Almost two years ago, AID acquired another east coast business at RSI. Ron Sigmon, SVP at our South Carolina facility remembers that transition well, saying, “AID’s CEO made me feel good about how RSI employees would be treated after the acquisition. While there was some inherent anxiety on our team at first, AID did everything they said they would do, and all RSI employees are still with AID after 19 months!”
AID is an organization that embraces technology’s ability to reach customers in relevant, modern ways. This most recent acquisition represents a significant step in AID’s continued momentum, establishing a strong foundation for future growth and geographically expanding the company through additional satellite locations.
