Dance has research-proven physical and mental benefits for everyone, even non-dancers. Plus, dancing is absolutely fun.
Which is why the ISDC invites dancers with all dance styles – Detroit Ballroom, Chicago Stepping, Two-Step, Zydeco, Lindy Hop, Hand Dance, or regular dance – and anyone looking for a safe place with great entertainment (including a live band), including world-renowned competitions and much more, to the 2022 edition of the International Swing Dance Championship (ISDC).
The event will take place in the Houston Marriott Westchase hotel from 29th December 2022 to 2nd January 2023. You can register for the event here.
The International Swing Dance Championship (ISDC) is a dance event set up for a purpose: to preserve urban swing dance culture and inspire a new generation of dancers. How do they intend to achieve this purpose?
The purpose is achieved through electrifying dance classes and competitions (for dancers of all ages, races, and mastery levels). It doesn't matter if you’re a dancer or not; the event is designed to include entertaining activities for dancers and non-dancers alike.
In fact, ISDC will feature a youth program where young members will have a chance to showcase their dance skills. For more information on the registration process, competition descriptions, competition rules, and event schedule, visit ISDC’s official website.
ISDC’s organizer and producer, Tena Morales-Armstrong, is a dedicated promoter and producer of several National and International dance events. Some of them are: Lindyfest, the Houston Jazz Dance Festival, the International Lindy Hop Championships (ILHC), and of course, ISDC. She can also say in outer space as NASA has share one of her YouTube videos with millions of view in outer space to Astronauts.
In December, Tena will be doing what she does best: promoting dance globally.
In fact, she has decided to make ILHC intercontinental as ILHC-Europe is set to kick off in Sofia, Bulgaria, soon. Furthermore, Tena is big on giving back to the community. Her dedication and support to several Youth Programs dedicated to preserving the art of dance are evident.
Tena believes everyone should experience dance at least once in their lifetime: whether it’s at a wedding, high school prom, college graduation party, company corporate events, or even in a dance event like ISDC.
