She also serves as a resource and support for the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (DCAPBS) with special attention to responsibilities related to departmental priorities which aim to improve practice, quality, and process regarding psychiatric-mental health for children, adolescents, and families.

Pertaining to her educational background, Dr. Hoeveler has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Philosophy from Princeton University. She started her career in medicine by earning her medical degree from the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. She then went on to complete her internship and residency in pediatrics at The Children's Hospital, the University of Colorado, followed by a residency and fellowship in child & adolescent psychiatry at The Post Pediatric Portal Program at CHOP, where she served as Chief Resident.
