Johns Manville (JM), a global building and specialty products manufacturer and a Berkshire Hathaway company, this week received the Innovative Technology Award from the Jefferson County (Colo.) Economic Development Corp.
The award recognizes JM’s contribution to significantly enhance the economic vitality of Jefferson County through technical innovation and for being “on the forefront of new and advanced technologies.”
“Innovation is a differentiator for Johns Manville in the many different markets we serve,” said Tim Swales, JM’s Vice President, R&D and Chief Sustainability Officer. “We are grateful to the Jefferson County Economic Development Corp. for recognizing the efforts of JM and our 700 employees who live and work in the Denver area.”
The award is based on JM’s work at its Technical Center in Littleton to create future uses for nylon-based materials in structural thermoplastic. It was presented Thursday, March 19, at the annual Jefferson County Industry Appreciation Awards Breakfast.
