Milwaukee Job Corps - Student Enrollment to Resume Soon

By: PRLog
Horizons Youth Services has received guidance from DOL to resume full outreach and recruiting operations at the Milwaukee center

MILWAUKEE - Aug. 21, 2025 - PRLog -- The Milwaukee Job Corps campus, located at 6665 N 60th St, is operated by Horizons Youth Services (HYS) for the Department of Labor (DOL) and has now received guidance to resume full outreach and recruiting operations.

The Milwaukee Job Corps outreach and admissions (OA) staff are currently contacting all applicants who have been waiting for their background checks to identify those who are still interested in expanding their career path at the Milwaukee campus. The OA staff have already been in constant communication with applicants to keep them informed of the positive steps towards a full and open Job Corps program.

Recently, the Senate Labor and Human & Health Services sub-committee has voted 26-3 to fund Job Corps fully in FY26. With such a strong show of support during the appropriation process, we remain very confident that the full senate and house will undoubtedly support a similar vote.

Eligible low-income youth ages 16-24 can now access the Milwaukee Job Corps website and start or resume their application for free career training and education in a residential campus environment. The Milwaukee campus provides many career training paths in welding, cement, construction, manufacturing, material distribution and operation, and health services. Students currently enrolled are also able to obtain a high school diploma or GED. You can explore a path to successful careers at https://milwaukee.jobcorps.gov/.

Still, we are not done yet! The funding bill still has to clear the Senate and House. Please go to https://SaveJobCorps.com and ask your members of congress to fund and support Job Corps and its bill language. Job Corps is the nation's largest free, residential career training and education program for low-income young adults. For over 60 years, Job Corps has helped over 2 million youth pave their path to success. The Milwaukee center has two residential halls and a capacity of 237 students.
