Author and board-certified psychologist Sam Toney, M.D., has announced the development of a new sci-fi project.

While other authors before him—most famously C.S. Lewis, have operated at the intersection of religious philosophy and science fiction, Toney explains that those authors typically leaned heavily into the more fantastical elements of the genre without regard for the scientific basis behind the worlds they created.
Standing apart from his contemporaries and those who came before, Toney is developing a story that he claims is “equation-based”, directly inspired by the findings of experimentation conducted at CERN. He is particularly concerned with research regarding other dimensions and realities, much of which lies in the realm of quantum physics, but which often borders on purely hypothetical, spiritual thought. He calls the new subgenre "plausible sci-fi", and hopes to create more stories in this emerging tradition in the future.
In “Revelation Equation”, Toney has stated that he will tell a grounded, human story that borrows concepts from quantum mechanics and applies them in a narrative about scientific exploration, philosophy, and the search for meaning.
In the course of this project’s development, the author is taking a non-traditional approach to the writing process by providing a behind-the-scenes look at the story as it develops. He has created the “Revelation Equation” discussion board, which is hosted on his website and will offer those interested in these concepts the chance to explore them openly with other like-minded individuals.
Toney explains his mission as follows: "Imagine a world of greater accord, where love and compassion, which we all have within, grow over time through simple acts of respect and the willingness to understand the thoughts and beliefs of one another. We can live in a world with greater agreement by moving away from the dissonance and open our the hearts and minds of more people to what is possible, what may exist beyond what we can plainly see or believe today."
