The human rights and ethics leader brings senior-level DOJ and business experience to support EverFree’s mission
EverFree, a human rights organization that supports survivors of exploitation through data-driven, survivor-led solutions, has appointed Elana Tyrangiel, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), to its Board of Directors. A longtime public servant and ethics leader, Tyrangiel brings many years of experience relevant to protecting vulnerable communities and advancing human rights.
“Few people have the combination of expertise, leadership, and real-world impact that Elana brings to our board,” said Kelsey Morgan, Co-Founder and CEO of EverFree. “Her commitment to ethical leadership aligns perfectly with EverFree’s mission to end exploitation and support survivors.”
Tyrangiel leads HPE’s global ethics and compliance program, which sets an example for the industry for prioritizing ethics, transparency, and human rights. Under her leadership, HPE launched its inaugural Human Rights Report and deepened efforts to prevent modern slavery and labor rights risks across the company’s supply chain. She has emphasized evidence- and data-based approaches and has helped HPE shape more impactful human rights policies.
“EverFree’s commitment to survivor-led care and data-driven systems is exactly what it takes to dismantle exploitation,” said Tyrangiel. “I look forward to advancing that mission by standing with survivors, strengthening protections, and building systems that make lasting freedom possible.”
Before entering the private sector, Tyrangiel spent more than a decade in public service. At the U.S. Department of Justice, she held senior leadership roles, including as Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General and head of the Office of Legal Policy, where she advised the Attorney General and helped shape national policy.
Earlier in her career, she served in the Office of the White House Counsel and as a federal prosecutor in Washington, D.C., where she focused on matters involving sexual abuse and domestic violence. She also worked in the nonprofit sector as a policy counsel at the National Partnership for Women and Families.
Tyrangiel’s appointment reflects EverFree’s continued focus on bringing together leaders with diverse expertise to scale survivor-informed solutions, especially with exploitation on the rise around the globe.
