Belmont Blooms Campaign Honored for Commitment to Environmental Sustainability in Senior Living
Belmont Village Senior Living is thrilled to announce that its Belmont Blooms Sustainable Fashion Campaign has been awarded the 2024 Argentum Best of the Best Award. Argentum, the leading national trade association serving companies that own, operate, and support professionally managed senior living communities, presents this prestigious accolade to innovative programs that advance excellence in senior living. The award was presented during the Hero Awards ceremony at Argentum’s annual Senior Living Executive Conference & Expo on April 29.
The award recognizes Belmont Village's innovative approach to engaging senior residents in environmentally conscious practices. The Belmont Blooms sustainable fashion campaign spanned five months and included a series of educational events, sustainability-focused activities and culminated with a final fashion show that showcased the residents’ sustainable fashion line they created. The campaign also raised funds for local non-profit organizations dedicated to environmental causes, adding a broader impact to the initiative.

The Sustainable Fashion show is part of the company’s overarching Belmont Blooms program that engages residents, staff, and families across Belmont Village communities in sustainability-focused activities. Since the inception of Belmont Blooms three years ago, the program’s purpose has been to emphasize environmental education and community commitment. Past Belmont Bloom campaigns have included farm-to-fork initiatives and implementing eco-friendly practices like composting, recycling, repurposing and more.
In 2023, Belmont Village launched the Belmont Blooms Sustainable Fashion campaign purposely designed to continue to promote environmental responsibility and active engagement among senior residents and staff, while aiming to raise awareness about fast fashion's environmental effects. The sustainable fashion campaign culminated in a fashion show, showcasing creative and unique sustainable clothing designs from the residents. The addition of the fashion show encouraged intergenerational collaboration, provided a platform for residents to showcase their sustainable creations, and supported fundraising for local environmental causes, fostering a sense of purpose, comradery, and inspiring sustainable practices throughout Belmont Village communities.
