BlackRock Enhanced Equity Dividend Trust Announces Investment Policy Update

BlackRock Advisors, LLC (“BlackRock”) announced today an investment policy update for BlackRock Enhanced Equity Dividend Trust (the “Trust”) (NYSE: BDJ). The Trust’s Board of Trustees has authorized the Trust to invest up to 10% of its total assets in private investments. The Trust’s primary investment objective is to provide current income and current gains, with a secondary investment objective of long-term capital appreciation.

The Trust seeks to achieve its investment objectives by investing in common stocks that pay dividends and have the potential for capital appreciation and by utilizing an option writing strategy to enhance distributions to its shareholders. The Trust invests, under normal market conditions, at least 80% of its total assets in dividend paying equities and may invest up to 20% of its total assets in equity securities of issuers that do not pay dividends.
