Interim HealthCare CEO and President Jennifer Sheets Named Maverick of the Year and Executive of the Year for Leadership in 2022

Sheets recognized by Stevie® Awards and Best in Biz Awards for her dedication to protecting and advancing the home healthcare industry through legislative and other advocacy efforts

Interim HealthCare Inc., the nation’s leading franchise network of home care, senior care, home health, hospice and healthcare staffing services, is proud to announce that CEO and President Jennifer Sheets is the recipient of two top accolades for her leadership of the company and the larger home healthcare industry in 2022. Sheets has been named a Maverick of the Year in the 19th annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business which honors women executives, entrepreneurs, employees, and the companies they run worldwide. She was also awarded Executive of the Year for Large Companies at the 2022 Best in Biz Awards, the only independent business awards program judged each year by prominent editors and reporters from top-tier publications.

Jennifer Sheets has played a pivotal role in continuing to elevate the home healthcare industry during the last year, both through her leadership of Interim HealthCare and as a member of numerous home health associations. She has remained committed to advancing the entire home care continuum, from calling for enhanced collaboration among providers and payers to spend healthcare dollars more efficiently, to overseeing new strategies and tactics to meet the overwhelming demand for home care staffing services across the U.S.

Additionally, over the past several months following the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) declaration of proposed cuts to Medicare home health funding for 2023, Jennifer Sheets has been instrumental in rallying the home health industry to oppose this harmful decision. Alongside other industry leaders, Sheets held countless meetings with key legislators and legal teams, including members of the Senate and House, CMS leadership and President Biden's office. This culminated in the drafting and introduction of the bipartisan Preserving Access to Home Health Act of 2022 currently making its way through Congress.

Upon hearing of these accolades, Jennifer Sheets responded, “I am humbled to receive these recognitions. Home healthcare has proven itself time and time again as the solution to many of the crises we’ve experienced in healthcare over the past three years. These cuts are detrimental to our industry’s ability to meet the incredible patient demand we’re seeing – and I’m committed to partnering with other industry leaders to fight so that every person who needs home healthcare services can receive them.”

Stevie Awards judges lauded Sheets for being “proactive in her efforts to improve healthcare and make a real difference” and providing “excellent examples of strong advocacy and leadership skills.” Following CMS’ announcement of its Medicare home health final rule in late October, which imposes payment rates that do not keep pace with rising labor costs, Sheets is continuing her advocacy efforts and working closely with sponsors of the Preserving Access to Home Health Act on necessary revisions to the bill to address the long-term impacts of the final rule. She is also working on driving sustained, permanent, quality-driven reimbursements for the home setting on the Medicaid side to support better wages for workers that will aid in meeting the growing demand for services.
