On November 5, 2008, MasTec, Inc. (the “Company”) announced its financial results for the
three and nine months ended September 30, 2008. A copy of the Company’s earnings press release is
furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this report on Form 8-K. The information contained in this report on
Form 8-K, including Exhibit 99.1, shall not be deemed “filed” with the Securities and Exchange

On November 5, 2008, the Company announced its financial results for the three and nine months
ended September 30, 2008. In addition, the Company updated its 2008 annual guidance as set forth in
