However, activity began declining in the fourth quarter of 2008, particularly in North America. The weakened global economic climate has resulted in lower demand and lower prices for oil and natural gas, which has reduced drilling and production activity and may therefore affect our future revenues and income. Our projections assume that the decline in North America rig activity reached its trough during the second quarter of 2009. However, we are not certain as to the timing of the recovery in activity. We cannot accurately predict how much lower commodity prices and drilling activity may go, or when they may recover. | Adverse weather conditions in certain regions could adversely affect our operations. In the summers of 2005 and 2008, the Gulf of Mexico suffered several significant hurricanes. These hurricanes and associated hurricane threats reduced the number of days on which we and our customers could operate, which resulted in lower revenues than we otherwise would have achieved. In parts of 2006, and particularly in the second quarters of 2007 and 2008, climatic conditions in Canada were not as favorable to drilling as we anticipated, which limited our potential results in that region. | U.S. Government and internal investigations could affect our results of operations. We are currently involved in government and internal investigations involving various of our operations.
