ITEM 7.01 REGULATION FD DISCLOSURE.

On September 28, 2006, Berkshire Hills Bancorp, Inc. (the "Company"), the
holding company for Berkshire Bank, announced it expected to issue its third
quarter earnings release on October 26, 2006. The Company will conduct a
conference call at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time on October 27, 2006 to discuss the
results for the quarter ended September 30, 2006. Instructions on how to access
the call are contained in the press release, a copy of which is attached as
Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
