BioTime could not file its Quarterly
Report on Form 10-Q for the three months ended September 30, 2008 within the
prescribed period because in order to complete its financial statements certain
documentation is required from its lenders, who are located in various parts of
the country, concerning the extension of BioTime’s line of
credit. Some of the necessary documentation was not received by the
prescribed due date of the Form 10-Q.
BioTime expects that it will be able to
file its Form 10-Q by the fifth calendar day following the prescribed due
date.
