(b) On December 7, 2006, Erie Indemnity Company announced the retirement of Jan Van Gorder, senior executive vice president, secretary and general counsel of the Erie Insurance Group effective December 31, 2006. Jan Van Gorder will remain as acting secretary and general counsel for a period of time until a successor is named. See Exhibit 99.1 for the attached press release.
