On May 1, 2007, National Interstate Corporation (the Company) issued a press release reporting its financial results for the quarterly period ended March 31, 2007. A copy of the Companys press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.

ITEM 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.
In a conversation subsequent to its May 2, 2007 earnings conference call with investors, the Company disclosed to an analyst that the impact of its decision to assume more risk in its truck reinsurance treaty that was renewed effective April 1, 2007, would be approximately $6 - 7 million dollars in increased net written premium over the next four calendar quarters.
