Item 8.01 Other Events.
On January 2, 2007, Hercules Offshore, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that the Company’s Chief Financial Officer suffered an apparent stroke on December 28, 2006. The Company also announced that it intends to promptly appoint a qualified individual to perform the Chief Financial Officer’s responsibilities on an interim basis. A copy of the press release is filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
