                                             Scottish Power Appoints New Company Secretary

Scottish Power plc announces today, resultant from its recent board meeting, the appointment of James Stanley as Company Secretary,
who takes up his position with immediate effect.

The company would like to thank its retiring Company Secretary, Andrew Mitchell for his work and significant contribution made to the
company over a considerable number of years and wish him every success in the future.
