Elevated Gas Levels Detected in Exhaust Raises on the Levack Property




TORONTO, Ontario – November 1, 2004 – FNX Mining Company Inc. (FNX-TSX/AMEX) and Dynatec Corporation (DY-TSX) today reported that elevated levels of certain noxious gases have been detected from the surface exhaust ventilation system on the Levack property.  An investigation into the source and nature of the gas has been undertaken. No employees were on the Levack property when the elevated gas levels were detected and work at Levack has been temporarily suspended.  The exhaust system will be monitored on a continuous basis until the gas levels return to normal.  


Operations at the McCreedy West Mine are unaffected.
