NEWS RELEASE
SHAW ANNOUNCES FURTHER DETAIL TO GUIDANCE FOR FISCAL 2004
Calgary, Alberta, February 5, 2004 Shaw announced today further detail to its guidance for fiscal 2004.
As previously announced in Shaws first quarter earnings release dated January 20, 2004, due to its successful first quarter performance, Shaw increased its consolidated free cash flow target for fiscal 2004 to $275 million from $195 million to $250 million. Further details are as follows:

The first quarter performance demonstrated our continued success in effectively managing capital resources and producing strong operating results through a combination of marketing and cost savings initiatives. We believe this continued success will enable management to achieve the Companys updated fiscal 2004 guidance, said Jim Shaw, CEO of Shaw Communications.
