Item 8.01.   Other Events.

 

On February 1, 2006, EPIX Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (“EPIX”) issued a press release announcing that Judge Patti Saris of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts granted EPIX’ Motion to Dismiss for Failure to Prosecute the previously disclosed shareholder class action lawsuit against EPIX.  Judge Saris issued the dismissal without prejudice after a hearing held on January 31, 2006.  A copy of the press release is attached to this Current Report on Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
