Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers
On February 1, 2015, John A. Rife submitted his resignation as an independent director of the Board of Directors (the "Board") of United Fire Group, Inc. (the "Company"), effective May 19, 2015. Mr. Rife's resignation is in compliance with the Company's by-laws which state that "every director shall submit his or her resignation not later than the first day of February after the director attains age 72" and is not the result of any disagreement with the Company on any matter relating to the Company's operations, policies or practices. Mr. Rife is currently the Vice Chairman of the Board and a member of the Executive Committee, the Investment Committee, and the Risk Management Committee of the Board.
