LawnZap, an app which was first launched in Florida in 2021, allows homeowners to list their lawns and indicate when they need service. From there, local, prescreened lawn professionals can bid on the yard and the homeowner can decide which lawn service they will employ. Over 30 percent of LawnZap’s users are over the age of 60 and have benefited greatly from the availability of the contactless service made possible with the digital payment method.
Around 35 lawn care services in the Yulee area are available through the app. LawnZap supports the local services by helping with marketing and route optimization and only charges a fee to the company, not the customer.
On the app, Homeowners can list their lawns with their lawn care needs and the date of when service is needed. From there, the lawn care professionals can bid on the properties in need of work based on Google Streetview, aerial images and other details homeowners provide. Homeowners can then select who they want to work with based on the vendor’s ratings, reviews and price, according to a LawnZap news release.
Once the lawn care professional has completed the service, they will send a time-stamped photo of the completed work. Homeowners can then pay via the app and set up more appointments, the release says.
The app is also essentially contactless, which is beneficial to homeowners right now due to the coronavirus pandemic, as the service allows vendors to bid on lawns without having to visit properties and talk face-to-face with homeowners. LawnZap also eliminates the need for customers and bidders to meet for payment.
