January 27, 2022 – TOLEDO – With NW Ohio known for its sometimes brutal winters Toledo can have snow squalls that can pile up inches if not feet of heavy snow in no time. When the snow does pile up many look to help in regards to snow removal as the snow episodes can prove to be problematic to those with the inability to remove the heavy snow due to physical limitations due to old age and more.
Once in a while a community has a good samaritan step out of the shadows. Bad McClure happens to be one of these amazing people. Mr Mclure has been offering a free plowing service to senior citizens in his neighborhood on and off over the past 15 years, when he has a snow plow available to him. Mr. McClure mentions, “I have always been a man to help those in need. If I have the tools available to me to help those more unfortunate I take pride in stepping up to the plate.” He continues “Some of these people in my neighborhood are unable to remove the heavy snow due to old age. If I do not step up to help them then who will? How would they go to the store for food if they are stranded? It is a neighborly thing to do.”
This winter Mr. McClure had plans to expand his free service to any disabled veterans, firefighters, police officers and EMS across the City of Toledo. “These people have put their lives on the line to protect us. They deserve a little love in return. This is my appreciation to say “thank you” for your service to our City, our Country. With winter weather quickly approaching he began preparations to get things rolling when his truck he had planned to utilize for the snow removal experienced engine issues rendering him unable to offer his compassionate services. “Many times the elderly and disabled have no one to turn to. Being disabled myself I have experienced that horrible feeling. I would be devastated if I were unable to keep my word to these amazing people.” With the lack of funds for critical repairs due to Mr McClure’s disability from numerous spinal surgeries over the years he is looking to other compassionate individuals to step up and help with the repairs needed to get his plow truck back on the road.
A GoFundMe has been set up for those who would like to help Mr McClure’s mission to help those who have served and protected us over the years.
