The expansion comes as approximately 14.6 million people (20 percent of the analyzed population) experienced high levels of acute food insecurity in Bangladesh between February and March 2024, highlighting the critical need for sustained humanitarian food assistance programs across the country.
"Our expanded food distribution services address the urgent needs of Bangladesh communities facing daily hunger challenges," said a Lotus Ministry Trust representative. "Through our culturally appropriate vegetarian meal programs, we provide rice, lentils, vegetables, cooking oil, and spices that respect local dietary traditions while ensuring nutritional value for recipients."
The organization operates through strategic partnerships with local volunteers and community organizations to reach remote villages, often overlooked by larger humanitarian efforts. Distribution centers are established at community gathering points—including schools, places of worship, and village centers—to maximize accessibility for residents.
