These include regional staples such as rice, lentils, vegetables, and yogurt, as well as cooking oil and spices for flavor and nutrition.
Lotus Ministry Trust explains that Bangladesh faces natural disasters nearly every year, including floods, cyclones, droughts, landslides, and tornadoes, which disrupt food production and distribution, destroy livelihoods tied to agriculture, and create significant economic hardship. These events often limit access to nutritious food, particularly in rural areas.
The logistics of food distribution are further complicated by these disasters, often requiring distributors to rely on local knowledge and resources to effectively reach remote communities. As such, volunteers can play a vital part in overcoming these challenges by participating in mobile distribution units to reach areas that would otherwise be inaccessible.
