With inflation trending above the Fed's 2% target, policymakers have signaled interest rates may remain higher deep into 2025—pressuring retirees who rely on bond-heavy portfolios. Changes introduced by the SECURE 2.0 Act, expected in late 2025, include updated Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) ages, expanded catch-up contributions for workers over 60, higher 401(k) and IRA contribution limits adjusted for inflation, and new provisions for Roth plans.
