Health care delivery today remains complex and many issues abound in clinical practice that require clinical teams to address ethical issues in care. Today, more than ever, health care professionals are being asked by patients and families to address these issues head on and to assist them in making informed health care decisions. The ethics in health care decision making is now at the forefront of both patient and professional health care decision making.
Generally, not enough is taught about ethics in preparatory curriculums. As such, it is often necessary to seek out consultations by highly trained and credentialed professionals in the specialty of health care ethics. Demand is growing for Certified Health Care Ethics Consultants.
The American Institute of Health Care Professionals, Inc. (AIHCP), a highly recognized continuing education and certification organization has now addressed this need and offers a comprehensive program allowing licensed health care, and other qualifying professionals to obtain the education and skills needed to become Certified Health Care Ethics Consultants.
The Health Care Ethics Consulting program consists of a curriculum of online health care ethics continuing education courses totaling 200 contact hours of education. Students in the program have up to two years to complete the curriculum and may accelerate at their own pace. Courses are provided in online classrooms and are self-paced, with faculty mentoring. The CE courses have board approvals.
