Kinetic, a leading provider of affordable residential and small business internet, is excited to announce the activation of its high-speed fiber Gigabit service in the Poyen area. This significant milestone is part of Kinetic’s ongoing commitment to delivering state-of-the-art internet solutions to communities across the region.
To commemorate this service availability, Kinetic hosted a public ribbon cutting on Sept. 11 at the Poyen Ballpark.
“Kinetic has made substantial investments in expanding its fiber network infrastructure, ensuring that residents in Poyen can now enjoy the benefits of ultra-fast, reliable internet connectivity,” said Arkansas State Rep. Julie Mayberry (R). “This new service will support a range of activities, from remote work and online education to streaming and gaming, enhancing the quality of life and economic opportunities for the community.”
The development within Poyen is part of a larger Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) $8.2 million project which connected fiber internet to an additional 2,100 homes and businesses in the area. This is part of Kinetic’s multi-year $2 billion project to provide premium-quality internet to areas that have historically been underserved or unserved. Many other towns in Grant County, like Leola, Prattsville and Sheridan, also benefit from Kinetic’s High-Speed internet including Tull, where construction was completed in August.
“Kinetic is a local provider that understands every rural community requires access to high-speed internet services,” said Mayberry. “By bringing fiber internet to our residents, we’re paving the way for our community to have the tools needed to thrive in the digital age. We’re excited to see the positive impact this will have on our communities.”
Before this new build, some internet speeds in the area ranged between 15-245 Mbps in speed. With Kinetic’s new multi-gigabit fiber, Poyen residents can experience multi-gigabit speeds which can save them hours when downloading a state of the art 50 GB videogame, for example.
“The completion of this Kinetic Rural Digital Opportunity Fund expansion marks an incredible milestone for Arkansans in Central Arkansas,” said James Pitts, Kinetic local operations manager. “Combined with the initial public-private partnership with the State of Arkansas in 2023, Kinetic has connected almost 10,000 homes and small businesses to fiber internet with the support of our local communities and state officials.”
