Glenfarne Energy Transition’s Texas LNG Receives Key Local Tax Abatement

Texas LNG, a four million tonnes per annum (“MTPA”) liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) export terminal to be constructed in the Port of Brownsville, Texas, owned by energy transition leader, Glenfarne Energy Transition (“Glenfarne”), was approved for a Texas Tax Code Chapter 312 tax abatement from Cameron County. The tax abatement was approved by a four to one vote of the Cameron County Commissioners Court, which will bring Cameron County financial flexibility and funding to bring added services and infrastructure to the area.

“We appreciate the Cameron County Commissioners Court’s approval, which recognizes Texas LNG’s environmentally sensitive design, along with the significant economic benefits and jobs this facility will create for the local community,” said Vlad Bluzer, Co-President of Texas LNG. “We are committed to being a positive, productive, and transparent partner for Cameron County, and this vote is a meaningful show of support from the County leaders.”

Cameron County’s approval of this tax abatement is the latest in a series of important developments for Texas LNG, which will start construction later this year.
