Black & Veatch Chief Information Officer Named to Executive Leadership Council

Irvin Bishop Jr. among 2023 selectees to global group for Black business leaders, entrepreneurs

Black & Veatch, a leading global provider of critical infrastructure solutions, today announced that its chief information officer, Irvin Bishop Jr., was selected to the 2023 class of The Executive Leadership Council (ELC). The ELC’s mission is to increase the number of successful global Black executives by adding value to their development, leadership and philanthropic endeavors.

As an executive vice president and member of Black & Veatch’s leadership team, Bishop is helping strengthen clients’ experiences with solutions for their critical human infrastructure needs in energy, telecommunications and water, as well as addressing clients’ industry challenges including electrification, decarbonization, digitalization, water scarcity and resilience.

“Along with a strong team of talented professionals, Irvin is leading the efforts to advance our digital transformation and innovation initiatives,” said Mario Azar, Black & Veatch’s Chairman and CEO. “Irvin has also been a strong voice in helping our company further its focus on diversity, equity and inclusion.”

Bishop joined the advisory board of KansasCityCIO in 2021 and was recognized as 2022 Kansas City Global CIO of the Year® by the ORBIE® Awards.
