He is the founder of Creatum Energy and co-founder of Creatum Solar and has over two and a half decades of professional experience as an accomplished business development and operations leader.

A Curious Mind Builds Expertise

Since childhood, Mr. Illarramendi has been inquisitive. He often dismantled household electrical equipment, furthering his early interest in electronics and engineering. This curiosity led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science in electrical and electronics engineering from DeVry University and a finance and accounting certificate from Rice University Jones Graduate School of Business.

After graduating, Mr. Illarramendi worked as a project manager at various corporations from 2003 to 2015. He was also the engineering and operations manager at the technical support and engineering services firm Nextec Energy, where he manufactured power inverters for the telecom and renewables industry. Following this, Mr. Illarramendi spent a decade at the electrification and automation firm ABB, a technology leader, holding various positions, such as senior electrical solutions consultant, sales and operations interface manager and electrical engineering manager. Here, he strengthened his skills in electrical engineering and project management and contributed to the company's overall success worldwide for customers such as Chevron, Oxy, Shell, BP, GE, ENI, ExxonMobil, Kiewit, KBR, Statoil, Bechtel and Fluor. This tenure prepared him for his role as president of LineStar E&I, an integration and electrical services provider, from 2022 to 2024.

Mr. Illarramendi's latest endeavor includes being the founder and vice president of Creatum Energy, an energy business that provides high-quality commercial and oil and gas field services and products. He is also the co-founder and president of Creatum Solar, an EPC company that provides solar systems and battery storage for residential, commercial and utility-scale projects and applications. He plans to expand Creatum Energy and Creatum Solar's operations to achieve self-sufficiency and engage in international commerce.

Having developed solutions for the energy, oil, gas and renewables industries, Mr. Illarramendi specializes in prefabricated electrical substations for the petrochemical, liquified natural gas (LNG) and renewables markets.

He is currently providing consulting services for electrical integration in substations within the LNG sector, focusing on projects around Texas and Louisiana, such as Rio Grande LNG and Port Arthur LNG. In the past, Mr. Illarramendi has also worked on engineering and design projects for other past and future LNG facilities, including Texas LNG, Commonwealth LNG, New Fortress LNG, Woodfibre LNG, and Canada LNG.

Some of Mr. Illarramendi's professional accomplishments include leading the development and execution of strategies to drive revenue growth and increase market share, as well as leading and implementing best practices for designing e-houses and electrical substations from start to finish.

Beyond the Workplace

Born in Venezuela, Mr. Illarramendi is dedicated to his family and raising three children while balancing his professional career. He is also actively involved in various civic organizations, including being part of the packaging group at the Houston Food Bank. He has also served as a curriculum advisor at DeVry University, held an advisory role for the Iraq-Afghanistan Electrical Infrastructure Reconstruction with the U.S. State Department and has worked with the U.S. Department of Energy's Greenland Project.
