Everyone,

I am sure you have all seen the news about Time Warner’s acquisition by AT&T this weekend, and I wanted you to hear from me directly on how exciting this is for our entire company. It will significantly accelerate the next stage in our evolution, and promises to make all the great content we create and distribute even more powerful, engaging and valuable.

AT&T’s investment is in many ways a validation of the power of the Time Warner – and the Turner – brands, and the great value that our content brings to consumers across multiple platforms. The strength and quality of the Turner brands has been built by all of you, and everyone should feel great that AT&T has recognized that. They believe in the leadership and competencies of our people and understand that we have the expertise to continue our industry leading growth. Turner is, and will continue to be, a huge part of the value proposition for Time Warner and now AT&T.

Deals like this can take a year or longer to close, with SEC and regulatory approvals to navigate through. Until then, it’s heads down and business as usual for us. I will let you know when there is any new information to share, so in the meantime, keep doing the amazing work you are doing for Turner. Keep creating, keep innovating and keep delivering on our promise to the consumer and to our people.

Before the deal closes, we cannot work with AT&T beyond our normal ongoing business.  We can, however, start thinking about how the initiatives we are currently working on can be enhanced and accelerated by being within a company with 130 million mobile subscribers, 16 million broadband subscribers, and 25 million video subscribers, and with very robust efforts in utilizing data and innovating ad models.

If you have not already watched the Jeff Bewkes video announcing the merger and what it means for Time Warner, I encourage you to watch it now on the Time Warner blog, http://www.timewarner.com/blog, and please check out https://mytw.twi.com/news/att-landing for more information and an FAQ.

To pair Time Warner, a global leader in premium content, with AT&T’s long history of amazing innovation, as well as its tremendous international footprint across multiple platforms, means that our content will reach audiences on every platform imaginable. It’s an exciting opportunity, and we are proud to team up and explore all of the new growth opportunities that the future holds.

More soon,
John
