Other Events On May 21, 2002, the Registrant's 59% owned subsidiary, Coastal Petroleum Company, filed a lawsuit against the State of Florida seeking compensation for the State's alleged taking of its property rights to explore for oil and gas within its state lease 224-B in the Gulf of Mexico. On August 30, 2002, the Leon County Circuit Court trial judge denied the State of Florida`s motion to dismiss the case. Item 7.
