FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Peace Arch Entertainments The Last Hit Man Targets Canadian Film Fest For Toronto Premiere
Joe Mantegna Thriller Gets Prime Time Billing on First Full Day of Prestigious Festival Showcasing Top Canadian Filmmaking Talent
Toronto March 13, 2008 Peace Arch Entertainment Group Inc (AMEX: PAE) (TSX: PAE), an integrated global entertainment company, announced today that its Joe Mantegna thriller, The Last Hit Man, will mark its Toronto premiere at the prestigious Canadian Film Fest March 25-29. The motion picture is the latest in string of Peace Arch productions to be honored with prominent exposure at major international film festivals.
The Last Hit Man will screen at 8 p.m. March 26, the first full day of the four-day festival devoted to the celebration, promotion and advancement of Canadian filmmaking talent.
In 2007, Peace Arch Entertainments The Mad served as the opening night film at the festival, held annually at downtown Toronto theater locations to showcase both standout feature and short Canadian-made films. It includes opening and closing galas, parties, panels and other meet-and-greet sessions.
We are gratified to once again have one of our prized productions on display at the Canadian Film Film Fest, which is all about showcasing the best of Canadian filmmaking to the world, said John Flock, President and Chief Operating Officer of Peace Arch Entertainment Group. As The Last Hit Man ably demonstrates, we are intently focused on producing the best content for the film, television and DVD markets.
Directed by Christopher Warren Smets, The Last Hit Man is the story of an aging assassin (Mantegna) who discovers he is dying after botching a hit. He decides to hide the truth from his daughter, whos also his business partner and getaway driver. When a younger hit man is sent to clean up the mess, he ends up impacting their lives in more ways than initially intended.
The Last Hit Man is among a vast array of the titles that Peace Arch is selling internationally.
